Since 1902

A very warm welcome to The Century Bar. This building dates to 1902 and was built by local builder, Terence McDonald. His initials form the centrepiece of the bar. Constructed as a celebration of the 20th Century and contains rare Art Nouveau architecture. One of a kind in Dundalk. Other points of architectural interest include the original bar counter and hand-carved bar backdrop, and a neo-Tudor turret with curved sashes and glass that surveys the street scene below. The Century was reputedly a watchtower for forces during the Civil War, on account of the strategic view it commands from the turret, showing Dundalk Port and the route up to the town centre. Our nod to the age and history of the building is our cocktail list, which takes you on a short journey through the past 12 decades and showcases the most influential and sought-after drinks of their time. Enjoy! Sláinte!
